If you're like us... you had questions when you first saw the green, orange, and yellow tubes of L.A. Girl Concealer i.e. 'What are thooose? '

Thanks to our resident makeup artist, Alana, we've got answers. And a tutorial with everything you need to know about using L.A. Girl Concealers to correct & contour like a pro.

A quick note on colour theory before we get started: Mastering the art of concealer is all about understanding the color wheel. Luckily you learn this is primary school so it's not that hard. All you need to know is that colors that are OPPOSITE each other on the color wheel cancel each other out.

So.... GREEN cancels out RED. ORANGE cancels out BLUE YELLOW cancels out VIOLET see where this is going?

Basically, the idea behind colour correcting is this: In order to get a flawless look, you must correct unwanted tones rather than cover them by caking on layers skin-tone concealer.

STEP 1: Correct Under Eye Circles

  • Use yellow corrector shade to correct violet tones
  • Use orange corrector shade to correct blue tones
  • Alana's tips:
    • Most people have under eye circles with blue/violet tones. In order to correct this, mix the two shades to get a peachy colour.
    • The correction concealer should be applied before foundation or regular concealer and used ONLY on the discoloured areas
    • After you cover, lightly “stipple” (dab) foundation or concealer over it and then blend the edges with a brush

    • The correction concealer should be applied before foundation or regular concealer and used ONLY on the discoloured areas
