DVNA (pron. Da-na), a colourful, bold and intriguing project born within the depths of a Gold Coast bedroom. Taking control of her own production allows her the artistic freedom to truly express herself, creating a warm fusion between new-age soul and electronica, referencing Anderson .Paak and Syd.

DVNA has been turning heads all around the country with her smooth and sultry vocals. Her short career has already racked up an impressive resume including 4M Spotify streams, winning Song Of The Year at the Gold Coast Music Awards (Looking Like A Snack), supported the likes of LEISURE, Alice Ivy, Kira Puru, Arno Faraji and performed at various music festivals including Laneway Festival, The Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, among many others.

She was named triple j Unearthed Feature Artist in January 2020 and showcased at BIGSOUND 2019 where she was one of the most talked about artists of the whole festival.

A. A mix between Rihanna, Bella Hadid, Miley Cyrus. All so fierce and unapologetic with their looks. The Japanese street fashion also a big inspiration for me.

A. Anything with flares!!! And right now loving a white collared mens shirt. Goes with absolutely everything. Great for any occasion.

★ Q. When you write songs, do you often think of what outfit you’ll perform that song in? ★

A. No. I usually only plan the outfit the week of the performance. And in some cases, on the day of the performance.

★ Q. What lil piece of advice would you give your younger self? ★

A. Don’t lose the child in you. Dress how you want, make what music you want. Let your freak flag fly and don’t dull yourself down for anyone.

★ Q. What are your three wardrobe essentials? ★

A. Black jazz pants!!! A hat!!! Sunglasses!!!

★ Q. Dream place to perform? ★

A. My immediate dream is to play main stage at Splendour or Falls.

★ Q. Does your music vibe translate to your fashion style? ★

A. Yes absolutely. I think it’s all intertwined. I like to make music that is a little sassy, jazzy and groovy so my fashion choices must align with that. The more creative I get with my music, the more stylistic boundaries I feel I can push. Although, my track Half Past Sober is sonically a little more softer, more organic, so this needed translate in my clothing choices. I think it’s important to be fairly liquid, almost like a chameleon- Constantly changing and evolving.
